Walking is a big part of our tours. It is not uncommon to walk 3 to 6 miles a day. However we realize that this is your vacation. If you feel you cannot meet the walking requirements for the day you certainly can choose to not participate in part of or all of the tour or activity. Just let your Tour Manager know.

We will take a short drive for a day trip to see the charming city of Segovia. A fan favorite, Segovia has been an Iberian settlement since 700 BC.

Visit Segovia's central plaza, Roman Aqueduct, and Cathedral

While in Segovia we will visit the medieval town’s quaint central plaza, the impressive Roman Aqueduct, and the beautiful gothic cathedral. The Roman aqueduct, known as El Puente, is the best-preserved aqueduct left in the world. It carries water 10 miles from the Río Frío to Segovia.

Today we check out of our Madrid hotel and head to Granada. It is the capital city of the Andalucian region of Spain. It is situated on the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. It is known for its medieval architecture and Moorish influence.

Before we arrive in Granada, we will head straight for the olive groves. We get a chance to capture the behind-the-scenes process of an old oil mill. We finish off the tour with an olive oil tasting experience.

When we arrive, we will check into our hotel. Our hotel itself is a historic landmark. It is a former monastery dating back to 1616. It is said that the covered walk was built over a Morabito or a Muslim shrine.

Visit the Alhambra Fortress

Today we get to visit the iconic Alhambra Fortress. We will have a guided tour of the Generalife Gardens, The Nasrid Palace and the rest of the grounds of this well-preserved palace. This fortress dates back to1238. It was the last palace of the Moors (Muslims from North Africa), before their final expulsion in 1492.

You could visit the Oceanografic Aquarium with Beluga whales, take a quick trip to the beach, or head over to Ruzafa, one of Valencia’s trendiest neighborhoods. Known for its colorful street art, indie boutiques, and creative vibe, it’s a fun area to explore. You may wish to schedule a half day trip that takes you on a 50-minute ride to witness the underground labyrinth of the San Jose Caves.
