After landing in Munich we will began our walking tour and see the Glockenspiel, an amazing display of German ingenuity. We continue to explore the Marienplatz,  the Frauenkirche,  and the Old Town Hall. No visit to Munich is complete without a stop into Hofbrauhaus, one of Munich's oldest beer halls. First founded in 1589 to serve the royal court it is still thriving today. Dinner on own. Overnight Munich

Breakfast at hotel.  This morning, we will embark on an emotional tour of the historic Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.  After our tour we can grab a snack for the bus ride to the World Famous Neuschwanstein Castle.  There is a rather steep 30-minute walk up to the castle or there are horse and carriage rides available from the village.  We will have lunch at the Schloss restaurant that overlooks the grounds of the castle.  Then those who wish to continue up the hill for the iconic fairytale castle view can walk up to the suspension bridge for photos.  After our castle stop, we will head to the quaint town of Ettal for an overnight stay.  Ettal is in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park, and our hotel is directly across from the beautiful Ettal Monastery.  Dinner on own.  Overnight Ettal.

  Breakfast at hotel.  Today we will get a chance to visit King Ludwig’s Linderhof Palace.  The gardens, grotto, and the artistic details of the palace are stunning.  We will have a guided tour of the ornate landmark followed by a wonderful lunch in route to an exhilarating afternoon.  Get your thrill-seeking soul and adrenaline pumping as we experience a true Alpine Coaster in Oberammagau. (weather permitting) Ride steep curves, fun waves and spectacular jumps!  It is sure to be a highlight!  We will head back to the adorable town of Ettal.  Dinner on own.  Overnight Ettal. 

  Breakfast at hotel.  We are on the road again today heading to the Black Forest region of Germany.    Our destination is Freiburg im Breisgau, the capital of the Black Forest.  The history of the “free fortified town” dates to the early Middle Ages.  We get to meander through the compact pedestrian streets and visit the colossal religious Munster.  We will take a walking tour of the quaint town and relax in one of their wonderful biergartens.  Dinner on own.  Overnight Freiburg.

Breakfast at hotel.  Get ready for a wonderful day trip.  We will leave bright and early for the storybook town of Strasbourg, France.  This adorable town is famous for its colossal Gothic cathedral, but also as the seat of European Parliament.  It is  surrounded by neighborhoods full of half-timbered German merchant houses. Return to Freiburg for a free evening.  Spend time shopping in the quaint shops or visit more of the sights around town.  Dinner on own.  Overnight Freiburg. 

Breakfast at hotel.  Today is a free day to explore more of Freiburg.  There is time for an early morning visit to the artisan market near the cathedral that is just a few minutes’ walk from our hotel.  If you want, you can take a ½ day trip to the town of Triberg, home of the World’s Largest Cuckoo Clock.  It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to shop for your very own handcrafted cuckoo clock!  You can witness the world-famous cuckoo clocks.  Return to Freiburg for a free afternoon and evening.  You have the rest of the day to do as you wish.  You can visit Europa Park, take the funicular to another beautiful lookout point, visit museums, or even make an appointment at a nearby spa.  Dinner on own.  Overnight Freiburg.

  Breakfast at hotel.  We will check out of our hotel and take a quick stroll to the train station.  We will board our train and enjoy the amazing scenery as we chug through the German countryside into Switzerland.   We are headed to scenic Lucerne.  After checking into our hotel, we will begin a walking tour of many historic monuments and sights including the old wall, the Medieval Chapel Bridge and Lucerne’s Altstadt, the old town.  Your evening is free to explore the pristine lakeside setting of Lucerne. Dinner on own.  Overnight Lucerne.

Breakfast at hotel.  Today we meander to the famous Lion Monument and Lucerne’s cathedral.  We have arranged to take a late morning lake cruise to unveil even more of lovely Lake Lucerne.  Spend the rest of the day exploring as you please.  You could venture to Mt. Pilatus for more Alpine sights.  Dinner on your own.  Overnight Lucerne.

Breakfast at hotel.  We will head out of Lucerne and make our way to the picturesque town of Interlaken, Switzerland.  We can drop off our luggage and get started on an amazing walking tour with wonderful sights of this quaint town.  We will embark on a cog train gondola that takes us to the top of Harder Kulm, known as the “top of Interlaken.”  From the platform you will see incredibly breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, along with the turquoise lakes of Brienz and Thun.  Spend a bit of time to take in the serene views and capture your photos before heading back down the mountain.  Enjoy the rest of the night on your own to experience life like the locals.  Dinner on own.  Overnight Interlaken. 

Breakfast at hotel.  You will have a free morning to take excursions to nearby Swiss Alp towns or visit the old town of Interlaken.  Later in the afternoon we will have the amazing chance to celebrate Swiss National Day.  We will immerse ourselves in the culture with parades, concerts, delicious food, and fireworks.  This is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.  Overnight Interlaken.

Breakfast at hotel.  Today is our last day on this magnificent tour.  It is a completely free day for you.  You may want to wander through the streets of Interlaken shopping for souvenirs, visiting their local brewery, or relaxing by the crystal blue river.  You can also get an early start and head from Interlaken to Grindelwald for a spectacular gondola ride to The Eiger Glacier.  From there, you will change to a cogwheel train that will take you to the peak of Jungfraujoch.  Weather permitting, you can marvel at the beauty of the High-Alpine wonderland of ice, snow, and rock.  Even if weather is not conducive to spectacular views, there is a remarkable ice palace to explore on the Top of Europe.  Return from Grindelwald to Interlaken and have some free time.  There are countless possibilities to make lifelong memories. 

Breakfast in hotel. Today we say goodbye to our wonderful adventure and head to Zurich airport for our flight back to the United States.
